The exhibition project “Nur Wasser lässt sich leichter schneiden“(Only water can be cut more easily) was held in Oevelgönne, a district of Hamburg marked by particularly evident social extremes. The wealthy Augustinum Foundation Retirement Home, a container ship housing asylum seekers from many different countries and comfortable old cottages lining the river are all located in close proximity. From each of these backgrounds, Gislason found one person willing to allow their life story to be used in the exhibition
