Media Thule
openend on 28th August 1994
Contribution to the „Skulpturlandskap Nordland“ project
Myklebostad (district Tjeldsund), Norway

A 20-square-metre wooden house designed by Olafur Gislason was erected at a lonely place next to the sea at Nordland, Norway. The house is always open to visitors, and has a large panorama window overlooking the sea. Paper, pencils, water-colour paints and a table and chairs encourage the visitors to look out at the sea and draw or note down their impressions. The results are hung on the walls for a while, and on removal are stored away in archives kept at the house. “Media Thule“ is a permanent installation, and is taken care of by the people of Myklebostad, the nearest village.
