Pure Angst/ Pure Anxiety

Contribute to the exhibition „Allmenningen“

| The artists participating in the “Allmenningen“ project were invited to regard the entire city of Bergen as their exhibition area. Gislason chose a centre organised by people suffering from anxiety and depression. In his contribution, he divided off part of the day-room and painted the resulting space black. Centre members suffering from extreme states of anxiety and fear were invited to express their thoughts and moods in white writing on the black walls, which could be seen through a window from the street. During the opening hours of the centre, visitors were able to enter the black “anxiety room“ and talk to the participants. |
